Prices in industry increased m-o-m

Agricultural producer prices decreased by 0.2% month-on-month (m-o-m) and by 10.3% year-on-year (y-o-y). Industrial producer prices increased by 1.5% m-o-m and were lower by 1.1% y‑o‑y. Construction work prices grew by 0.7% m-o-m and by 2.7% y‑o‑y. Service producer prices in the business sphere rose by 1.1% m-o-m and by 3.6% y‑o-y.

“Industrial producer prices increased by 1.5 % month-on-month. Prices in industry fell by 1.1% year-on-year and prices in agriculture went down by 10.3 %. Construction work prices grew by 2.7% year-on-year and service producer prices in the business sphere by 3.6%,” noted Vladimir Klimes, head of Industrial and International Trade Prices Statistics Unit of CZSO.

Agricultural producer prices decreased by 0.2% m-o-m. Falling were prices of milk (-5.0%), fruit (-1.6%), vegetables (-1.5%) and cattle for slaughter (-0.9%). Growth was recorded in prices of potatoes (+15.8%), eggs (+8.3%), pigs for slaughter (+0.6%) and cereals (+0.2%). Y‑o‑y, agricultural producer prices decreased by 10.3% (-8.1% in February). In crop production, prices fell by 14.1%. Lower were prices of fruit (-43.8%), vegetables (-25.5%), cereals (-15.9%), potatoes (‑15.5%) and oilseeds (-12.4%). In animal production, prices went down by 5.6%. Prices decreased for pigs for slaughter (‑16.2%) and milk (-17.1%). Increase occurred in prices of cattle for slaughter (+23.5%), eggs (+22.1%) and poultry (+5.7%).

Prices of industrial producers increased by 1.5% m-o-m. Prices rose significantly in ‘coke, refined petroleum products’. Prices were higher in ‘chemicals and chemical products’ (+2.9%), ‘basic metals’ (+1.0%) and ‘motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers’ (+0.4%). Prices grew in ‘food products’ (+0.1%), thereof ‘preserved meat and meat products’ (+0.6%). Lower were prices in ‘dairy products’ (-0.5%). Prices went down in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’ (-2.2%), ‘paper and paper products’ (-1.0%) and ‘textiles’ (-0.9%). Prices of industrial producers decreased by 1.1% y-o-y (-2.9% in February). Prices went down significantly in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’ (-9.2%). Prices fell in ‘food products’ (-2.9%), thereof ‘dairy products’ (-12.6%) and ‘other food products’ (-0.9%). Prices were lower in ‘chemicals and chemical products’ (-7.7%) and ‘motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers’ (-1.8%). Prices grew considerably in ‘coke, refined petroleum products’. Prices rose in ‘wood and products of wood and cork, except furniture’ (+9.9%), ‘repair and installation services of machinery and equipment’ (+4.0%) and ‘other non-metallic mineral products’ (+2.8%). Among the main industrial groupings, prices of ‘energy’ (-2.6%), ‘non-durable consumer goods’ (-1.4%) and ‘intermediate goods’ (-0.2%) went down y-o-y. Prices of ‘durable consumer goods’ (+1.5%) went up. Prices of industrial producers excluding energy were lower by 0.5% (-0.9% in February).

Construction work prices, as estimated, increased by 0.7% and prices of materials and products used in construction went up by 0.8% m-o-m. According to the estimate, construction work prices rose by 2.7% y‑o‑y (as in February). Prices of materials and products used in the construction were higher by 2.9% y-o-y (+1.9% in February).

Service producer prices in the business sphere increased by 1.1% m-o-m. Rising were prices of ‘advertising and market research services’ (+9.6%), ‘programming and broadcasting services’ (+8.2%), ‘information services’ (+2.7%), ‘services of head offices; management consulting services’ (+1.4%), ‘telecommunication services’ (+0.9%) and  ‘land transport services’ (+0.8%). Prices went down for ‘motion picture, video and television programme production services, sound recording and music publishing’ (-3,7%). Service producer prices in the business sphere, excluding advertising services rose by 0.5%. Service producer prices in the business sphere grew by 3.6% y-o‑y (+3.4% in February). Prices rose for ‘advertising and market research services’ (+21.6%), ‘programming and broadcasting services’ (+14.6%), ‘employment services’ (+9.3%) and ‘telecommunication services’ (+2.1%). Service producer prices in the business sphere, excluding advertising services, increased by 2.2% (+2.3% in February).

Industrial producer prices in the EU – February 2026 (preliminary data)

According to the Eurostat News Releases, industrial producer prices fell in February by 0.5% in EU27 (in January they rose by 0.8%), m-o-m. The largest monthly decreases were recorded in Spain (-3.1%), Ireland (-2.6%), Portugal (-1.8%) and Germany (-0.5%). Prices were higher in Poland (+0.5%), Slovakia (+0.2%) and Czechia and Austria (+0.1% both). The highest increases were observed in Croatia (+3.8%), Finland (+2.7%) and Lithuania (+1.8%). Industrial producer prices went down in February by 2.7% (in January they fell by 1.9%) in EU27, y-o-y. The largest decreases were recorded in Spain (-7.0%), Ireland (-4.6%) and Portugal (-4.5%). Prices were lower in Germany (-3.2%), Czechia (-2.9%), Austria (-2.7%), Poland (-1.9%) and Slovakia (‑0.3%). The highest increases were observed in Bulgaria (+9.2%), Finland (+7.9%) and Sweden (+3.5%).

Except for the construction work price indices, the published figures are final data. Estimates of the construction work price indices are carried out on the 9th calendar day of the following month. Then, construction work price indices are updated using results of the finished quarterly survey and the finalised data are released on the 46th calendar day of the following quarter.
