Industrial producer prices fell y-o-y

Agricultural producer prices were higher by 3.0% month-on-month (m-o-m) and by 3.2% year-on-year (y-o-y). Industrial producer prices decreased by 0.1% m-o-m and by 1.2% y‑o‑y. Construction work prices grew by 0.1% m-o-m and by 3.2% y‑o‑y. Service producer prices in the business sphere rose by 0.3% m-o-m and by 4.3% y‑o-y.

“Since February of this year, prices of industrial producers have continued to fall year-on-year, this time by 1.2%. On the other hand, construction work prices were higher by 3.2% year-on-year and service producer prices in the business sphere by 4.3%. Prices of agricultural producers decelerated their year-on-year growth to 3.2%,” noted Vladimir Klimes, head of Industrial and International Trade Prices Statistics Unit of CZSO.

Agricultural producer prices grew by 3.0% m-o-m. The increase was recorded for prices of eggs (+6.4%), poultry (+2.3%), cattle for slaughter (+1.5%) and milk (+0.1%). Falling were prices of pigs for slaughter (‑5.1%), potatoes (-3.9%), cereals (-3.1%), fresh vegetables (-2.7%) and oilseeds (-0.7%). Y‑o‑y, agricultural producer prices grew by 3.2% (+7.1% in September). In crop production, prices went down by 2.5%. Prices were lower for fresh vegetables (-15.8%), fruit (-15.6%), potatoes (-14.7%) and cereals (-5.1%), while prices of oilseeds rose (+2.1%). In animal production, prices went up by 17.3%. Prices increased for eggs (+48.3%), cattle for slaughter (+42.7%), milk (+17.0%) and poultry (+8.9%). Decrease occurred in prices of pigs for slaughter (‑8.7%).

Prices of industrial producers decreased by 0.1% m-o-m. Prices fell especially in ‘coke, refined petroleum products’. Lower were prices in ‘food products’ (-0.4%), thereof ‘dairy products’ (-1.1%) and ‘preserved meat and meat products’ (-0.5%). Higher were prices in ‘other food products’ and ‘bakery and farinaceous products’ (+0.3% both). Prices went down in ‘chemicals and chemical products’ (-0.9%). Prices went up in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’ (+0.6%). Prices increased in ‘wood and products of wood and cork, except furniture’ (+1.7%) and ‘other non-metallic mineral products’ (+0.2%). Prices of industrial producers fell by 1.2% y-o-y (-1.0% in September). Prices went down particularly in ‘coke, refined petroleum products’. Lower were prices in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’ (-2.6%), ‘chemicals and chemical products’ (-7.8%) and ‘coal and lignite’ (-10.0%). Prices increased in ‘food products’ (+2.3%), especially in ‘preserved meat and meat products’ (+3.0%) and ‘dairy products’ (+4.0%). Prices went down in ‘other food products’ (-1.0%). On the increase were prices in ‘repair and installation services of machinery and equipment’ (+4.0%) and ‘wood and products of wood and cork, except furniture’ (+6.9%). Among the main industrial groupings, prices of ‘energy’ (-3.6%) and ‘intermediate goods’ (-1.1%) went down y-o-y, prices of ‘durable consumer goods’ (+2.9%) and ‘non-durable consumer goods’ (+1.2%) went up. Prices of industrial producers excluding energy were lower by 0.2% (+0.2% in September).

Construction work prices, as estimated, increased by 0.1% and prices of materials and products used in construction were higher by 0.3% m-o-m. According to the estimate, construction work prices rose by 3.2% y‑o‑y (+3.3% in September after updating). Prices of materials and products used in the construction went up by 0.9% y-o-y (+1.0% in September).

Service producer prices in the business sphere increased by 0.3% m-o-m. Prices grew for 'motion picture, video and television programme production services, sound recording and music publishing' (+5.9%), ‘advertising and market research services’ (+2.7%), ‘programming and broadcasting services’ (+1.8%) and 'employment services' (+1.4%). Prices of 'services of head offices; management consulting services' went down (-0.3%). Service producer prices in the business sphere, excluding advertising services increased by 0.1%. Service producer prices in the business sphere grew by 4.3% y-o‑y (+4.5% in September). Rising were prices of ‘programming and broadcasting services’ (+16.5%), ‘advertising and market research services’ (+16.4%), 'employment services' (+8.5%) and publishing services' (+5.8%). Service producer prices in the business sphere, excluding advertising services, increased by 3.2% (+3.3% in September).

Industrial producer prices in the EU – September 2025 (preliminary data)
According to the Eurostat News Releases, industrial producer prices fell in September by 0.1% in EU27 (in August they fell by 0.4%), m-o-m. The largest decreases were recorded in Bulgaria and Finland (-0.7% both), Cyprus, Hungary and Poland (-0.5% each). Prices went down in Czechia (-0.4%), Slovakia (-0.3%) and Germany (-0.1%) and went up in Austria (+0.1%). The highest increases were observed in Romania (+1.2%), Estonia (+0.7%) and Lithuania (+0.4%). Industrial producer prices went up in September by 0.1% (in August they decreased by 0.4%) in EU27, y-o-y. The highest increases were recorded in Bulgaria (+9.1%), Romania (+6.9%) and Sweden (+4.9%). The largest decreases were observed in Luxembourg (-4.4%), Portugal (-3.7%) and Ireland (-2.8%). Prices fell in Austria (-2.6%), Germany (-1.5%), Poland (-1.3%) and Czechia (-1.0%) and were higher in Slovakia (+0.1%).

Except for the construction work price indices, the published figures are final data. Estimates of the construction work price indices are carried out on the 9th calendar day of the following month. Then, construction work price indices are updated using results of the finished quarterly survey and the finalised data are released on the 46th calendar day of the following quarter.
