Information on the use of cookies and measurement of website traffic The Czech Statistical Office uses basic web analytics without storing cookies, which are not absolutely necessary for the provision of the service. The website is operated in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the protection of personal data (GDPR), Act No. 127/2005 Coll., on electronic communications and other legal regulations.

For statistical evaluation of current traffic and web analytics, we use the open source platform Matomo, which is implemented on the web servers of the CZSO in the Czech Republic. The legal basis for the processing of personal data for this analysis is the fulfilment of a task carried out in the public interest. Data obtained through the Matomo service is anonymized after 24 hours.

We use web analytics to detect traffic, identify potential flaws, find pages that are not displayed or problems with indexing in search engines, and improve the functionality of our website as a whole. At the same time, we use this analysis when preparing new projects, creating new web presentations (applications) or evaluating existing ones.

We need the obtained data for quality assessment, efficiency, system parameter setting and control of spent funds. You can find more information under the link Detailed information on the processing of the obtained data.
