Y-o-y decrease of agricultural producer prices continued

“Prices of agricultural producers have been falling year-on-year since December 2025. In June, this decrease was 13.5%. On the other hand, prices of industrial producers rose by 1.3%. Year-on-year growth was also recorded in construction work prices by 4.1% and service producer prices in the business sphere by 3.2 %,” noted Vladimir Klimes, head of Industrial and International Trade Prices Statistics Unit of CZSO.
Agricultural producer prices decreased by 0.6% m-o-m. Falling were prices of eggs (‑8.3%), cattle for slaughter (-3.2%), pigs for slaughter (-3.1%), poultry (-1.8%), milk (-1.4%) and cereals (-0.3%). Growth was recorded in prices of oilseeds (+1.2%). Y-o-y, agricultural producer prices decreased by 13.5% (-13.2% in May). In crop production, prices fell by 11.3%. Lower were prices of fresh vegetables (-17.8%), cereals (-15.6%), oilseeds (-9.3%) and fruit (-2.2%). Rising were prices of potatoes (+12.1%). In animal production, prices went down by 16.1%. Prices decreased for milk (‑26.1%) and pigs for slaughter (‑23.9%). Increase occurred in prices of cattle for slaughter and eggs (+3.8% both) and poultry (+0.9%).
Prices of industrial producers fell by 0.4% m-o-m. Prices were lower significantly in ‘coke, refined petroleum products’. Lower were prices in ‘food products’ (-0.6%), thereof ‘dairy products’ (-2.1%) and ‘preserved meat and meat products’ (-0.8%). Prices rose in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’ and ‘rubber and plastic products’ (+0.9% both) and ‘basic metals’ (+0.8%). Prices of industrial producers increased by 1.3% y-o-y (+1.5% in May). Prices grew markedly in ‘coke, refined petroleum products’. Higher were prices in ‘chemicals and chemical products’ (+18.4%), ‘other non-metallic mineral products’ (+4.2%) and ‘rubber and plastic products’ (+4.5%). Prices went down in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’ (-4.4%). Prices fell in ‘food products’ (-5.0%), thereof lower were prices in ‘dairy products’ (-14.5%) and ‘preserved meat and meat products’ (-5.6%). Among the main industrial groupings, prices of ‘intermediate goods’ (+4.3%) and ‘energy’ (+1.1%) went up y-o-y. Prices of ‘non-durable consumer goods’ (-2.5%) went down. Prices of industrial producers excluding energy were higher by 1.4% (+1.1% in May).
Construction work prices, as estimated, increased by 0.3% and prices of materials and products used in construction were higher by 0.6% m-o-m. According to the estimate, construction work prices rose by 4.1% y-o-y (+3.5% in May). Prices of materials and products used in the construction grew by 6.7% y-o-y (+6.1% in May).
Service producer prices in the business sphere increased by 0.1% m-o-m. Rising were prices of ‘computer programming, consultancy and related services’ and ‘land transport services’ (+0.7% both), ‘motion picture, video and television programme production services, sound recording and music publishing’ (+0.5%) and ‘architectural and engineering services’ (+0.2%). Prices went down for ‘employment services’ (-1.6%), ‘services of head offices; management consulting services’ (-1.0%), ‘information services’ (-0.5%) and ‘programming and broadcasting services’ (-0.2%). Service producer prices in the business sphere, excluding advertising services went up by 0.1%. Service producer prices in the business sphere grew by 3.2% y-o-y (+3.0% in May). Prices rose for ‘advertising and market research services’ (+15.4%), ‘employment services’ (+8.5%), ‘motion picture, video and television programme production services, sound recording and music publishing’ (+7.6%), ‘security and investigation services’ (+6.4%) and ‘programming and broadcasting services’ and ‘information services’ (+5.9% both). Service producer prices in the business sphere, excluding advertising services, increased by 2.2% (+2.1% in May).
Industrial producer prices in the EU – May 2026 (preliminary data)
According to the Eurostat News Releases, industrial producer prices increased in May by 0.2% in EU27 (in April they rose by 0.8%), m-o-m. The highest increases were recorded in Cyprus (+3.6%), Ireland (+2.8%) and the Netherlands (+1.9%). Prices were higher in Germany and Austria (+0.2% both) and lower in Slovakia (-0.4%), Czechia and Poland (-0.1% both). The largest decreases were observed in Croatia (-2.1%), Hungary (-1.3%) and Italy (-0.5%). Industrial producer prices went up in May by 5.7% (in April they grew by 4.9%) in EU27, y-o-y. The highest increases were recorded in Bulgaria (+19.3%), Romania (+13.5%) and Lithuania (+12.3%). Prices were higher in Poland (+3.2%), Slovakia (+2.9%), Germany and Austria (+2.3% both) and Czechia (+1.5%). The only decrease was observed in Luxembourg (-3.2%).

Except for the construction work price indices, the published figures are final data. Estimates of the construction work price indices are carried out on the 9th calendar day of the following month. Then, construction work price indices are updated using results of the finished quarterly survey and the finalised data are released on the 46th calendar day of the following quarter.
