Awards of the CZSO
The Minisčítání 2025 (Mini census 2025) project was awarded third place in the Low Budget and Its Effectiveness category in the prestigious Zlatý středník competition.
The Zlatý středník competition annually recognizes the most outstanding communication projects and corporate media initiatives from Czechia and Slovakia. In the Low Budget and Its Effectiveness category, the jury evaluates, among other criteria, the campaign’s impact, creativity, cost efficiency, and overall effectiveness.
This award confirms that even with limited resources, it is possible to create a project that generates significant public interest and helps children discover statistics as an engaging, accessible, and meaningful part of everyday life.
Petr Klauda, Head of the Unit for Statistical Territorial Units at the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO), was awarded second place in the eGovernment Personality 2026 competition in the category of central government authorities.
The competition is organized by eGovernment Magazine, which uses the award to recognize individuals who have made a significant contribution to improving the level of digitalization within public administration in Czechia.
Petr Klauda received the award primarily for launching the Statistical Geoportal and for his work on the office-wide strategy for the use, operational support, and further development of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) at the CZSO. Additional recognition stemmed from his membership in the interministerial coordination committee for the Infrastructure for Spatial Information in the European Community, which is responsible for the implementation of the INSPIRE Directive.
Minicensus Wins Lemur: Czech Public Relations Award
The Minicensus 2025 project won second place in the Public Administration and Politics category in the prestigious Lemur – Czech Public Relations Award. The competition is organized annually by the Public Relations Association (APRA) and recognizes communication projects that bring creative solutions, adhere to the ethical standards of the field, and have a demonstrable positive impact. This award confirms that statistics can also be understandable, engaging, and inspiring for children and schools.
