Y-o-y growth of agricultural producer prices slowed down again

“In year-on-year comparison, prices of agricultural producers increased by more than 11%. Construction work prices were higher by 2.6% and service producer prices in the business sphere by 4.1%. On the other hand, prices of industrial producers decreased by more than 1% year-on-year,” noted Jiří Šulc, head of Agricultural, Construction, and Services Prices Statistics Unit of CZSO.
Agricultural producer prices decreased by 1.9% m-o-m. Falling were prices of oilseeds (-7.0%), eggs (-3.3%) and cereals (-2.5%). The increase was recorded for prices of cattle for slaughter (+3.9%) and milk (+0.2%). Y‑o‑y, agricultural producer prices grew by 11.2% (+13.4% in June). In crop production, prices went up by 5.6%. Higher were especially prices of fruit (+21.5%), oilseeds (+12.0%) and cereals (+9.1%), while prices of potatoes (-22.7%) and fresh vegetables (-8.3%) fell. In animal production, prices went up by 17.8%. Prices increased for eggs (+42.5%), cattle for slaughter (+35.8%), milk (+19.6%) and poultry (+10.2%). Decrease occurred in prices of pigs for slaughter (‑5.7%).
Prices of industrial producers rose by 0.1% m-o-m. Prices went up particularly in ‘coke, refined petroleum products’. Prices rose in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’ and ‘food products’ (+0.2% both). Higher were prices in ‘preserved meat and meat products’ (+0.3%) and ‘prepared animal feeds’ (+0.7%), lower were in ‘vegetable and animal oils and fats’ (-0.6%). On the decrease were prices in ‘rubber and plastic products’ (-0.9%).Prices of industrial producers decreased by 1.2% y-o-y (-0.7% in June). Prices fell in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’ (-4.0%). Prices went down also in ‘coke, refined petroleum products’. Prices were lower in ‘chemicals and chemical products’ (-6.9%) and ‘coal and lignite’ (-10.4%). Higher were prices in ‘food products’ (+4.0%), particularly in ‘dairy products’ (+11.0%) and ‘preserved meat and meat products’ (+5.0%). Prices went down in ‘other food products’ (-3.5%). Prices grew in ‘repair and installation services of machinery and equipment’ (+4.1%) and ‘other non-metallic mineral products’ (+1.9%).
Among the main industrial groupings, prices of ‘energy’ (-5.4%) went down y-o-y, prices of ‘durable consumer goods’ (+2.7%) and ‘non-durable consumer goods’ (+2.5%) went up. Prices of industrial producers excluding energy were higher by 0.6% (+1.4% in June).
Construction work prices, as estimated, increased by 0.3% and prices of materials and products used in construction were lower by 0.1% m-o-m. According to the estimate, construction work prices rose by 2.6% y‑o‑y (same as in June after updating). Prices of materials and products used in the construction were higher by 0.9% y-o-y (+1.1% in June).
Service producer prices in the business sphere declined by 1.4% m-o-m. Prices went down for ‘advertising and market research services’ (-17.9%), ‘programming and broadcasting services’ (-17.3%) and 'motion picture, video and television programme production services, sound recording and music publishing' (-5.3%). Rising were prices of ‘services of head offices; management consulting services’ (+1.7%) and 'real estate services' (+0.4%). Service producer prices in the business sphere, excluding advertising services rose by 0.1%. Service producer prices in the business sphere grew by 4.1% y-o‑y (+4.2% in June). Prices rose for ‘programming and broadcasting services’ (+21.4%), ‘advertising and market research services’ (+15.5%), ‘security and investigation services’ (+12.6%) and 'warehousing and support services for transportation' (+5.5%). Service producer prices in the business sphere, excluding advertising services, increased by 3.3% (same as in June).
Industrial producer prices in the EU – June 2025 (preliminary data)
According to the Eurostat News Releases, industrial producer prices increased in June by 0.7% in EU27 (in May they fell by 0.6%), m-o-m. The highest monthly increases were recorded in Spain (+3.1%), Italy (+2.2%) and Portugal (+1.7%). Prices went up in Poland (+0.7%), Slovakia (+0.3%) and Germany (+0.1%) and down in Austria and Czechia (-0.2% both). The largest decreases were observed in Estonia (-3.8%), Ireland (-2.8%) and Sweden (-1.4%). Industrial producer prices went up in June by 0.6% (in May they increased by 0.4%) in EU27, y-o-y. The highest increases were recorded in Bulgaria (+8.4%), Greece (+5.0%) and Italy (+3.9%). Prices went down in Austria (-2.2%), Germany (-1.1%), Poland (-1.0%), Slovakia (-0.9%) and Czechia (‑0.7%). The largest decreases were observed in Estonia (-5.2%), Lithuania (-2.9%) and Portugal (-2.8%).

Except for the construction work price indices, the published figures are final data. Estimates of the construction work price indices are carried out on the 9th calendar day of the following month. Then, construction work price indices are updated using results of the finished quarterly survey and the finalised data are released on the 46th calendar day of the following quarter.
