Business Register

Business Register (BR) maintained by the Czech Statistical Office in compliance with Article 20 of Act No. 89/1995 Coll., on the State Statistical Service, and in compliance with the annexes No. III. and IV. of Regulation (EU) 2019/2152 on European business statistics, collects selected data on legal and natural persons, trusts and public authorities. Data are recorded in the register on the basis of the data obtained by the CZSO in compliance with special regulations or on the State Statistical Service Act and recorded data is used only for statistical purposes. Each unit in the BR is identified by the unique identification number ICO, which is assigned to the unit during administrative registration process according to Act No. 111/2009 Coll. on Basic Registers. The BR is daily regularly updated from administrative sources and monthly updated also from statistical sources; quarterly information on the number of registered businesses according to selected basic classification criteria is available. Basic characteristics of businesses and entrepreneurs in the CR are specified in the publications (Czech only) brought out up to now.

Providing of data from BR - data on a business mentioned in Article 20 (3) a) to j) are public and can be provided to everybody who asks for them. To users are available data on CZSO web pages free of charge. It is possible to select individual data (Czech only) on legal or natural person, or to gain the whole database in csv format (Czech only) in the frame of open data offer. An updated version of the register for public users is available twice a month.

To users who need information from the BR for their own work with data, we offer the possibility to order as a paid service (Price List of Services and Products) a complete database or a selection from the database according to their own specification. The register is provided to user via saved agreed interface.
