Registered unemployment and job vacancies (MPSV)
The general rate of unemployment is determined by the Czech Statistical Office during the Labour Force Selection Survey in randomly selected households in Czechia.
The share of unemployed persons is determined by the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs and is based on data from the Labour Office. The indicator expresses the percentage share of registered unemployed among all working-age residents. It compares the number of attainable jobseekers with the total population, although it is limited to the productive age of 15-64. Against the unemployment rate, this denominator also includes economically inactive persons (e.g. students, pensioners, persons on parental leave).
