Year-on-year growth of agricultural producer prices continued

Month-on-month comparison:
Agricultural producer prices fell by 0.9%. Prices of poultry (-5.4%), fresh fruit (-4.8%), potatoes (-3.8%), pigs for slaughter (-2.1%), fresh vegetables (-1.9%) and cereals (-1.2%) went down. Prices of milk (+0.9%), cattle for slaughter (+0.3%) and eggs (+0.1%) went up.
Prices of industrial producers went up by 0.2%. Higher were prices in ‘coke, refined petroleum products’. Prices increased in ‘food products, beverages, tobacco’ (+0.5%), thereof ‘dairy products’ (+3.0%). Lower were prices in ‘mining and quarrying’ (-1.3%) and ‘chemicals and chemical products’ (-1.0%).
According to an estimate, construction work prices increased by 0.2% and construction material input prices stayed unchanged.
Market services prices in the business sphere rose by 0.4% due to the price increasing of ‘employment services’ (+4.1%), ‘advertising and market research services’ (+2.8%) and ‘publishing services’ (+1.1%). Market services prices excluding advertising services went up by 0.2%.
Year-on-year comparison:
Agricultural producer prices were higher by 12.5% (+13.0% in July). Prices of crop products grew by 9.1% due to increasing prices of fresh fruit (+34.8%), potatoes (+8.7%), cereals (+5.9%) and oil plants (+4.6%). Prices of fresh vegetables fell by 1.2%. Prices of animal products went up by 16.5%. Higher were prices of milk (+38.5%), pigs for slaughter (+6.3%) and eggs (+14.4%). Prices of poultry dropped by 4.2%.
Prices of industrial producers were higher by 1.4% (+1.1% in July). Prices went up in ‘basic metals, fabricated metal products’ (+4.9%). Prices rose in ‘food products, beverages, tobacco’ (+4.2%), thereof ‘dairy products’ (+17.3%) and ‘preserved meat and meat products’ (+4.4%). On the increase were also prices in ‘coke, refined petroleum products’. Prices went down in ‘transport equipment’ (-2.5%) and ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’ (-1.3%).
Among the main industrial groupings, prices of ‘non-durable consumer goods’ (+4.2%) increased the most.
According to an estimate, construction work prices rose by 1.6% (like in July) and construction material input prices grew by 1.8% (like in July).
Prices of market services in the business sphere were higher by 1.8% (+1.4% in July). Increasing were prices in ‘insurance, reinsurance and pension funding services, except compulsory social security’ (+5.3%), ‘publishing services’ (+3.9%) and ‘advertising and market research services’ (+4.9%). Decreasing were prices of ‘telecommunications services’ by 1.1%. Market services prices excluding advertising services increased by 1.5% (+1.3% in July).
Industrial producer prices in the EU – July 2017 (preliminary data)
According to the Eurostat News Releases, industrial producer prices increased in July by 0.1% (-0.3% in June) in EU28, month-on-month. The highest increase was observed in Bulgaria (+2.4%). Prices rose in Poland (+0.3%) and Germany (+0.1%) and fell in Slovakia (-0.6%), the Czech Republic and Austria (-0.2% both). Prices decreased the most in Hungary (-1.0%).
Industrial producer prices were higher in July by 2.3% (+2.6% in June) in EU28, year-on-year.
Prices rose in all Member States, the most in Belgium (+5.9%). Prices rose in Poland (+4.2%), Germany (+2.1%), Slovakia (+1.3%), the Czech Republic and Austria (+1.1% both).

Market services price indices: 15th calendar day of reference month / 7th calendar day of the following month
Except for the construction work price indices, the published data are finalised. Estimates of the construction work price indices are carrying out on the 9th calendar day of the following day. Construction work price indices are updated using the finished quarterly survey and the finalised data are released on the 45th calendar day of the following quarter.
