Production, sales, and orders decreased

In November 2012, industrial production decreased at constant prices by 3.9%, year-on-year; working days adjusted industrial production decreased by 6.2%. Compared to the previous month seasonally adjusted industrial production was lower by 0.8%. The value of new orders decreased by 2.3%, y-o-y.
In November 2012, industrial production decreased at constant prices by 3.9%, y-o-y; working days adjusted industrial production decreased by 6.2%. November 2012 had 1 working day more than November 2011. Seasonally adjusted industrial production (as well as working days adjusted) was lower by 0.8%, m-o-m. The following contributed the most to the y-o-y decrease of industrial production: manufacture of rubber and plastic products (contribution -1.0 p.p., drop by 15.6%), electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply (contribution -0.9 p.p., drop by 9.8%), and manufacture of basic metals (contribution -0.5 p.p., drop by 11.9%). Industrial production increased the most in manufacture of electrical equipment (contribution +0.4 p.p., growth by 5.8%), manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (contribution +0.2 p.p., growth by 8.3%), and manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (contribution +0.1 p.p., growth by 0.3%).
Sales from industrial activity at current prices decreased by 3.1%, y-o-y, in November 2012. Direct export sales of industrial enterprises decreased at current prices by 2.7%. Domestic sales, which include also indirect export via non-industrial enterprises decreased at current prices by 3.6%.
The value of new orders in selected industrial CZ-NACE activities decreased by 2.3%, y-o-y, in November 2012. Non-domestic new orders decreased by 0.6%, while domestic new orders decreased by 5.5%. The y-o-y decrease of new orders in total was the most contributed to by the following CZ-NACE divisions: manufacture of computer, electronic and optical products (contribution -1.3 p.p., drop by 12.3%), manufacture of basic metals (contribution -1.2 p.p., drop by 14.0%), and manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (contribution -0.7 p.p., drop by 2.2%). The value of new orders increased in manufacture of machinery and equipment (contribution +0.85 p.p., growth by 7.6%), manufacture of chemicals and chemical products (contribution +0.8 p.p., growth by 13.8%), and manufacture of electrical equipment (contribution +0.3 p.p., growth by 2.7%).
The average registered number of employees * ) in industrial enterprises with 50+ employees decreased in November 2012 by 0.7%. Their average monthly nominal wage increased in November 2012 by 2.9%, y-o-y, and reached CZK 30 361.
According to the Eurostat news release published in October 2012, working day adjusted industrial production in the EU27 decreased by 3.1%, y-o-y. Data for November 2012 will be released by Eurostat on 14 January 2013 at 11:00 a.m.
