Growth of industrial production continued in November

Industrial production increased in real terms by 5.7%, year-on-year (y-o-y), in November. In the month-on-month (m-o-m) comparison, it was by 2.4% higher. The value of new orders increased by 4.1%, y-o-y.

Industrial production in November was in real terms by 2.4% higher, m-o-m. In the year-on-year comparison, it increased by 5.7%. “The industrial production increased in November in most of economic activities of industry. The results were also partly influenced by the effect of a lower comparison basis. As for individual industries (economic activities), the growth was the most contributed to by the automotive industry and manufacture of fabricated metal products,” Radek Matějka, Director of the Agricultural and Forestry, Industrial, Construction, and Energy Statistics Department of the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO), says. Industries related to manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers, for example, manufacture of rubber and plastic products, manufacture of electrical equipment also recorded growth. Growth continued in manufacture of other transport equipment and in manufacture of basic metals. As for the development of industrial production, the following industries (economic activities) contributed the most in the negative direction: mining and quarrying (especially of coal) and manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations.

The value of new orders at current prices in surveyed industrial CZ-NACE activities in November 2025 increased by 4.1%, y-o-y. Non-domestic new orders increased by 6.3%, y-o-y. Domestic new orders recorded an increase by 0.2%. In the month-on-month comparison, the value of new orders was by 1.1% lower. “The growth of the value of new industrial orders in November was the most contributed to by manufacture of motor vehicles and manufacture of parts and accessories for motor vehicles, manufacture of fabricated metal products, and manufacture of electrical equipment,” Veronika Doležalová, Head of the Industrial Statistics Unit of the CZSO, says. On the other hand, the value of new orders decreased in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations, manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, manufacture of paper and paper products, and manufacture of textiles.  

The average registered number of employees in industry decreased by 1.3%, y-o-y, in November 2025.

According to data released by Eurostat, industrial production in the EU27 increased by 1.9%, year-on-year, in October 2025. The industry of Ireland and Latvia increased the most (both the same, by 8.7%). Performance of Czech industry increased by 1.1%; German industry strengthened by 1.0%. The biggest year-on-year decrease was recorded by Bulgaria (by 7.6%) and Slovakia (by 3.7%). As for economic activities in the EU27, the biggest increase was recorded by manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (by 12.6%); the biggest decrease was recorded by manufacture of wearing apparel (by 6.9%). According to a preliminary release calendar, Eurostat will release data for November 2025 on 15 January 2026.

November 2025 had by two working days less than November 2024.
The year-on-year development of all indicators is published after having been adjusted for the influence of the number of working days. Month-on-month or quarter-on-quarter rates have also been seasonally adjusted. Contributions to an increase or to a decrease have been calculated from data that had been adjusted for working days.
