Growth of production and orders continued

In June 2015, industrial production increased at constant prices by 8.1%, year-on-year. Working day adjusted industrial production increased by 5.5%, y-o-y. Compared to the previous month, seasonally adjusted industrial production was higher by 1.0%. The value of new orders increased by 10.3%, y-o-y.
In June 2015, industrial production increased at constant prices by 8.1%, y-o-y. Working day adjusted (WDA) industrial production increased by 5.5%, y-o-y. There was 1 working day more in June 2015 than in June 2014. Seasonally adjusted (as well as WDA) industrial production was higher by 1.0%, m-o-m. The following contributed the most to the y-o-y increase of industrial production: manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (contribution +2.9 p.p., growth by 16.0%), manufacture of machinery and equipment (contribution +1.3 p.p., growth by 15.0%), and manufacture of fabricated metal products (contribution +0.9 p.p., growth by 10.2%). Industrial production decreased in manufacture of other transport equipment (contribution -0.2 p.p., drop by 10.9%) and in printing and reproduction of recorded media (contribution -0.01 p.p., drop by 0.8%).
Sales from industrial activity at current prices increased by 7.7%, y-o-y, in June 2015. Direct export sales of industrial enterprises increased at current prices by 12.2%. Domestic sales, which include also indirect export via non-industrial enterprises increased by 2.2% at current prices.
The value of new orders in selected industrial CZ-NACE activities increased by 10.3%, y-o-y, in June 2015. Non-domestic new orders increased by 9.7%, while domestic new orders increased by 11.4%. The y-o-y growth of new orders in total was the most contributed to by the following CZ-NACE divisions: manufacture of motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers (contribution +4.3 p.p., growth by 11.9%), manufacture of machinery and equipment (contribution +1.6 p.p., growth by 13.2%), and manufacture of fabricated metal products (contribution +1.5 p.p., growth by 13.0%). New orders decreased only in manufacture of basic pharmaceutical products and pharmaceutical preparations (contribution -0.003 p.p., drop by 0.2%).
Industry in the Q2 2015
Industrial production in the Q2 2015 increased by 4.8%, y-o-y. Compared to the Q1 2015, seasonally adjusted industrial production was by 1.0% higher.
The average registered number of employees*) in industrial enterprises with 50+ employees increased in the Q2 2015 by 3.3%, y-o-y. Their average monthly nominal gross wage increased in the Q2 2015 by 3.0%, y-o-y, and reached CZK 28 559.
*) The registered number of employees indicator does not include persons working under various contracts for work, working owners of enterprises, and cooperating household members, who do not have contracts of employment. Data on the registered number of employees in industry also exclude agency workers, who have contracts of employment within activities of services (CZ-NACE 78.2).
As a result of organizational changes that took place as at 1 May 2015 in major enterprises dealing with crude oil refinery processing, it is impossible to publish data on CZ-NACE 19 because confidentiality of individual data has to be kept.
