In the Q2 2015, seasonally adjusted sales in services remained unchanged, quarter-on-quarter, at constant prices. Working days adjusted sales increased by 2.2%, year-on-year, the same as non-adjusted. The growth of sales was contributed to by all economic activities except for transportation and storage.
In the Q2 2015, seasonally adjusted sales in services1) remained unchanged at constant prices, quarter-on-quarter. Year-on-year, working days adjusted sales increased by 2.2%, the same as non-adjusted (in the Q2 2015 there was the same number of working days as in the Q2 2014). The growth was reported by all economic activities of services except for transport and storage, which is the most important as for its volume.
Year-on-year development of seasonally non-adjusted sales in services broken down by CZ-NACE division:
- sales in transportation and storage decreased by 0.8%. The drop was influenced especially by the development in warehousing and support activities for transportation, where sales decreased by 6.2%. Lower sales were recorded also by air transport (-6.7%) and postal and courier activities (-1.5%). On the contrary, already for the tenth subsequent quarter, sales increased in land transport and transport via pipelines, which is the most important as for the volume (+3.5%). Higher sales were reported also by water transport (+0.9%);
- sales in accommodation and food service activities increased by 6.5%. Sales increased both in accommodation (+10.7%) as well as in food and beverage service activities (+4.4%);
- sales in information and communication increased by 3.5%. A double-digit growth (+11.5%) was recorded by information service activities, which include, for example, news agency activities, data processing, web portals, and hosting. Computer programming, consultancy and related activities, which include, for example, computer programming activities, computer consultancy activities, and computer facilities management activities, increased by 5.3%. Sales increased also in publishing activities (+4.5%), programming and broadcasting activities (+3.4%), and telecommunications (+2.8%). On the contrary, for the third subsequent quarter, a double-digit drop was reported by music and motion picture activities (this time by 21.0%);
- sales in real estate activities increased by 0.2%, which was caused by the development in real estate activities on a fee or contract basis (growth by 4.2%), while sales in buying and selling of own real estate continued to decrease (-0.9%);
- sales in professional, scientific and technical activities2) continued to grow; the growth started in the Q1 2015 and this time it was by 3.0%. Sales increased in advertising and market research (+4.6%), architectural and engineering activities (+4.2%), legal and accounting activities (+3.1%) and also for other professional, scientific and technical activities (+2.8%). A decrease was recorded only in activities of head offices; management consultancy activities (-3.2%);
- sales in administrative and support service activities3) increased by 5.7%. Growth was reported by all divisions except for travel agency, tour operator reservation service and related activities (-4.5%). Sales in rental and leasing activities increased by 8.9%,
cleaning activities by 6.0%, and security and investigation activities by 3.1%. However, the highest growth rates have been recorded for a long time in employment activities, sales of which increased in the Q2 2015 by 20.2%.
