Year-on-year in 2025, Export and Import Prices Decreased

Export prices
In month-on-month comparison, export prices decreased by 0.1% (after exchange rate adjustment stayed the same). The biggest decrease was recorded in ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ and in ‘furniture’, by 6.8% and 2.2%, respectively. The prices increased in ‘products of forestry, logging and related services’ and in ‘waste collection, treatment and disposal services’ by 2.8% and 0.8%, respectively.
In year-on-year comparison, export prices decreased by 4.4% (after exchange rate adjustment by 0.5%). Significantly, prices decreased in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’ and in ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ by 21.9% and 17.5%, respectively. The prices increased significantly in ‘products of forestry, logging and related services’ and in ‘wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture’ by 14.7% and 6.0%, respectively.
On average for the whole of 2025, in comparison to 2024, export prices decreased by 1.2% (increased by 3.1% in 2024). The prices decreased significantly in ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ and in ‘waste collection, treatment and disposal services’ by 15.0% and 9.5%, respectively. The biggest increase was recorded in ‘products of forestry, logging and related services’ and in ‘wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture’ by 7.5% and 6.5%, respectively.
Import prices
In month-on-month comparison, import prices decreased by 0.2% (after exchange rate adjustment by 0.1%). The biggest decrease was recorded in ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ and in ‘electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning’ by 9.5% and 3.0%, respectively. The prices increased in ‘basic metals’ and in ‘chemicals and chemical products’ by 1.1% and 0.8%, respectively.
In year-on-year comparison, import prices decreased by 5.4% (after exchange rate adjustment by 1.5%). The prices decreased significantly in ‘crude petroleum and natural gas’ and in ’coke and refined petroleum products’, by 29.1% and 16.0%, respectively. The prices increased in ‘furniture’ and in ‘motor vehicles, trailers and semi-trailers’, by 2.7% and 0.4%, respectively.
On average for the whole of 2025, in comparison to 2024, import prices decreased by 1.6% (increased by 1.5% in 2024). Significantly, prices decreased in ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ and in ‘crude petroleum and natural gas’ by 13.2% and 11.1%, respectively. The prices increased significantly in ‘food products’ and in ‘furniture’ by 5.1% and 5.0%, respectively.
“On average for the whole of 2025, in comparison to 2024, export and import prices decreased by 1.2% and 1.6%, respectively. The terms of trade reached the value of 100.5%. Export and import prices decreased especially in ‘’coke and refined petroleum products’ by 15.0% and 13.2%, respectively,” Vladimír Klimeš, Head of the Industrial and International Trade Prices Statistics Unit of the Czech Statistical Office, noted.
The terms of trade
In month-on-month comparison, the terms of trade reached the value of 100.1% (99.8% in November). Significant positive value reached ‘coke and refined petroleum products’ (102.9%) and negative value reached ‘furniture’ (97.2%).
In year-on-year comparison, the terms of trade reached the value of 101.1% (100.7% in November). Significant positive value reached ‘wood and of products of wood and cork, except furniture’ (109,0%) and negative value reached ‘electricity’ (83.4%).
On average for the whole of 2025, in comparison to 2024, the terms of trade reached the value of 100.5% (101.5% in 2025). Significant positive value reached ‘wood and of products of wood and cork’ (107.8%) and negative value reached ‘furniture’ (91.0%).
