Pigmeat production continued to grow in March

Meat production total (excl. poultry meat) went up 5.0 % in March year-on-year due to both increases in pigmeat and beef production (incl. veal) by 5.9 % and 1.3 %, respectively.
The average slaughter weight fell by 0.5 % to 591.1 kg for bulls year-on-year, in case of pigs for slaughter (excl. sows and boars) by 0.2 % to 109.8 kg.
Prices of agricultural producers declined 1.8 % for bulls for slaughter year-on-year, whereas the same prices of pigs for slaughter rose 3.1 %.
Milk collection for dairies decreased 4.0 % in March.
Since the beginning of the year meat production total (excl. poultry meat) has gone down 0.3 % year-on-year due to a decrease in beef production (incl. veal) by 3.9 %. Pigmeat production has gone up 0.7 %.
The average slaughter weight has decreased by 1.1 % to 584.3 kg for bulls for slaughter year-on-year, on the other hand the same weight of pigs for slaughter (excl. sows and boars) has grown 1.6 % to 110.9 kg.
Prices of agricultural producers have risen by 1.2 % for bulls for slaughter year-on-year since the beginning of the year, while the same prices of pigs for slaughter have fallen by 5.9 %.
Milk collected for dairies has decreased 2.4 % year-on-year since the beginning of the year.
