Growth of pigmeat production

Meat production total (excl. poultry meat) increased 3.0 % in February year-on-year due to growth of pigmeat production 4.8 %. Beef production (incl. veal) declined 3.9 % year-on year.

The average slaughter weight of bulls for slaughter fell by 0.4 % to 586.4 kg year-on-year, whereas the same weight of pigs for slaughter (excl. sows and boars) increased 2.7 % to 111.9 kg.

Prices of agricultural producers rose 1.8 % year-on-year for bulls for slaughter; in case of pigs for slaughter the same prices declined 15.1 %.

Milk collection for dairies decreased 0.2 % in February.

Since the beginning of the year meat production total (excl. poultry meat) has decreased 3.0 % year-on-year due to both decrease in pigmeat production 2.1 %, in beef (incl. veal) production 6.5 %.

The average slaughter weight has decreased by 1.4 % to 580.7 kg for bulls for slaughter; on the other hand the same weight of pigs for slaughter (excl. sows and boars) went up 2.6 % to 111.6 kg year-on-year.

Prices of agricultural producers have risen by 2.9 % for bulls for slaughter year-on-year since the beginning of the year, whereas the same prices of pigs for slaughter have fallen by 10.4 %.

Milk collected for dairies has decreased 1.5 % year-on-year since the beginning of the year.
