Publication Date: 26. 05. 2005
Product Code: r-2101-05
Meat production total (excl. poultry meat) went down 15.1 % in April year-on-year due to both decreases in pigmeat and beef production (incl. veal) by 14.2 % and 18.6 %, respectively. Not only a decrease in numbers of animals slaughtered but also a lower slaughter weight participated in y-o-y fall of meat production.
The average slaughter weight decreased 1.1 % to 583.4 kg for bulls and for pigs for slaughter (excl. sows and boars) went down 1.7 % to 107.4 kg year-on-year.
Prices of agricultural producers rose up 9.9 % for bulls for slaughter year-on-year and for pigs for slaughter by 6.6 %.
Milk collection for dairies went up 2.0 % year-on-year.
Since the beginning of the year meat production total (excl. poultry meat) has decreased 18.7 % year-on-year due to both decreases in pigmeat and beef production (incl. veal) by 17.7 % and 22.6 %, respectively. A considerable fall of meat production was compensated for a significant increase in imports of meat and animals for slaughter. Beef imports went up almost four times and pigmeat imports increased more than twice y-o-y in the first quarter of this year.
The average slaughter weight went down 0.4 % to 583.6 kg for bulls for slaughter year-on-year, in case of pigs for slaughter (excl. sows and boars) the weight fall by 3.4 % to 106.8 kg.
Prices of agricultural producers rose by 9.2 % for bulls for slaughter year-on-year, in case of pigs for slaughter the same prices rose by 24.1 %.
Milk collected for dairies decreased 0.4 % year-on-year.
