The consumption of nutrients in mineral fertilisers in the 2023/2024 marketing year reached 298 thousand tonnes. It was 1% higher year-on-year, and fell by 16% compared to consumption 10 years ago. While nitrogen consumption decreased slightly (-1%) compared to the previous period, phosphorus (in the form of P₂O₅) and potassium (in the form of K₂O) consumption were higher year-on-year (+8% and +5%, respectively). Per hectare of fertilised agricultural land, 110.6 kg of nutrients from mineral fertilisers were consumed, of which 85.2 kg/ha of nitrogen, 15.5 kg/ha of phosphorus (P₂O₅) and 10.0 kg/ha of potassium (K₂O).
