Population estimates, structure, and projection
At the end of 2025, the Czech Republic’s population was nearly 10.916 million, the highest since the end of World War II. The population has been growing continuously since 2014, rising by 6.3 thousand in 2025. Currently, almost 21% of the population (2.27 million people) are aged 65 and over, and this proportion is expected to rise to 29% by mid-century.
