At the end of 2023, the Czech Republic had a population of almost 10.901 million people, the highest number since the end of World War II. Since 2019, the population growth is only due to international migration. Currently, 21% of the population is aged 65 and over, and by mid-century, the proportion is expected to rise to 29%.
