Demografie, Review for Population Research is the only journal of demography published in the Czech Republic. It has been published since 1959 and its publisher is the Czech Statistical Office. It publishes articles, analyses and surveys on population development in the Czech Republic and abroad, provides data on the marriage, divorce, fertility, mortality, abortion rates, migration, and analyses of population censuses. It publishes reviews of books published in the Czech Republic and abroad in the form of reviews and summaries and on the main demographic events.
The journal is published quarterly in both Czech and English. Alongside Czech authors, Demografie is also open to scholars from abroad. Demografie is published in print format and in electronic format on the website of the Czech Statistical Office.
Demografie is an open access journal from 2024. All content is licenced under CC BY-NC-SA.
The Czech Statistical Office retains copyright that is not affected by the CC BY-NC-SA license.
The journal Demografie has been indexed in the Web of Science database (in the Emerging Sources Citation Index), has an impact factor of 0.6 (2024), Scopus database (CiteScore 2024 = 1.0; SJR 2024 = 0.263), ICI Journals Master List (ICV 2024 = 139.35), and in the Directory of Open Access Journals.
Demografie has been a peer-reviewed since its founding. Peer-review typically takes 4 months.
DOI is assigned to all peer-reviewed articles approved for publication.
Authors are not charged any fees for submission and/or publication.
