Methodology - Pensions

Data from the field of Social Security are taken from the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs. 

Pension insurance insures citizens in case of old age, disability or the loss of a breadwinner. Old-age, disability and survivor's pensions are provided from the basic pension insurance.The amount of pension has two components, namely a basic and a percentage assessment. The basic assessment is identical for all pensions, the percentage assessment is determined individually according to the length of the insurance period and the amount of earnings.  

The presented tables and graphs include pensions that are provided under the Act on Pension Insurance – so-called pensions in the civil sector. They do not contain data relating to the armed forces of the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Justice.
