Lifelong learning

In 2022, 45% of adults engaged in education, with 8% doing so within formal education at secondary or tertiary institutions. Regarding non-formal education, 40% of adults took part in courses, seminars or job training. Those with higher incomes, university education, and residing in large cities tend to participate more in non-formal education. 

In 2020, 86% of businesses provided education for their persons employed. However, only 57% of businesses provided education beyond what is legally required due to health and safety issues, compared to 64% in 2015. Non-obligatory training was more often provided by companies with more persons employed and companies, whose business economy fell into sectors of Financial and insurance activities, Information and communication and Professional, scientific and technical activities.
