ICT specialists and their wages

In recent years, approximately 230 thousand people in Czechia have been working as ICT specialists. A key part of this group consists of ICT professionals (ISCO 25), including in particular analysts, developers, programmers, database professionals, computer systems and network administrators or software testers data security professionals. In 2024, they accounted for around 60% of all ICT specialists and represented 2.6% of total employment. Women have long made up only slightly more than one tenth of ICT professionals  in Czechia; in 2024, their share was 13%, which is one of the lowest among EU countries.

In 2025, the average gross monthly wage of ICT professionals increased year on year by 6% to CZK 100 thousand, i.e. to almost twice the average wage in Czechia. However, significantly lower pay still persists in the public sector. While in business sector (wage sphere), ICT professionals earned an average of CZK 102 thousand, in government sector (salary sphere) it was CZK 58 thousand. Software developers earned the highest wages (CZK 117.8 thousand), while network administrators and system administrators earned the lowest (CZK 82.4 thousand).
