A total of 317,000 people worked in the health sector in 2023, including 47,329 physicians, 85,309 general nurses and 4,559 midwives. In inpatient healthcare facilities, the average gross monthly wage of doctors in 2023, including bonuses and supplements, was CZK 101,408, while for general nurses and midwives it was CZK 58,552.
