A total of 321 thousand people worked in the health sector in 2024, including 48,781 physicians, 86,580 general nurses and 4,660 midwives. In inpatient healthcare facilities, the average gross monthly wage of doctors in 2024, including bonuses and supplements, was CZK 124,775, while for general nurses and midwives it was CZK 62,410.
