Economic accounts for agriculture

According to semi-definitive results, the output of the agricultural industry (OAI) in 2023 decreased by 7.9%. This decline was influenced by a drop in the value of crop production by 17.4%, while animal production, on the other hand, recorded year-on-year growth of 6.3% in 2023. Cereals (41.1%) and industrial crops (24.5%) had the most significant share in crop production. In animal production, milk production (54.1%), pigs for slaughter (14.7%) and cattle for slaughter (12.5%) contributed most significantly. The share of crop production (53.3%) continued to prevail over animal production (39.7%). According to 2023 semi-definitive results, the entrepreneurial income of farmers fell, compared to 2022 data, by 58.0%. Compared to the preliminary results published in March 2024, the semi-definitive results showed a decrease in entrepreneurial income by 22.0%. Definitive results for 2023 will be available next September.
