Economic accounts for agriculture
The value of agricultural production expressed in basic current prices decreased by 1.2% to CZK 174,694.5 million in 2024. This decline was influenced by a 3.0% decrease in the value of crop production, while animal production, on the contrary, recorded a year-on-year growth of 0.4% in 2024. Crop production accounted for 52.4% of agricultural production in 2024. Cereals (39.7%) and industrial crops (23.8%) had the most significant share in crop production. Animal production accounted for 40.4% in 2024. The most significant contributions to animal production were milk production (55.1%), slaughter pig farming (14.0%), and slaughter cattle farming (13.2%). Gross value added at basic current prices in 2024 amounted to CZK 58,651.3 million, representing a 6.2% year-on-year increase.
