Economic accounts for agriculture

According to improved semi-definitive results, the value of the output of the agricultural industry according to methodology of the Economic Accounts for Agriculture increased by 14.7% in 2022. The value increased by 10.0% for crop production and by 23.1% for livestock production . Cereals (48.5%) and industrial crops (22.5%) were the most important contributors to crop production. Milk production (55.6%), breeding of pigs for slaughter (13.5%) and breeding of cattle for slaughter (13.2%) were the most important contributors to livestock production. As a result of the rate of growth in costs being faster than the rate of growth in agricultural production, the value of entrepreneurial income fell slightly by 2.9%, year-on-year. In view of the turbulent price developments during the year, entrepreneurial income fell by 8.4% compared to the preliminary results published in March 2023. The definitive results for 2022 will be available in September next year.
