Deaths, life expectancy, causes of death

In 2025, there were 113.3 thousand deaths in the Czech Republic, slightly more than in the previous two years. Life expectancy increased year-on-year to new historical highs: 77.5 years for men and 83.2 years for women. Half of the deceased were aged 75–89, with the highest number belonging to the large birth cohort of 1946. The largest proportion of deaths is due to diseases of the circulatory system.
