In 2024, almost 123 thousand people were employed in research and development in the Czech Republic. In terms of full-time work spent on research and development, there were 86.9 thousand people. The share of full-time equivalent persons in R&D in the total number of employees was 1.6%. The Czech Republic has one of the lowest share of females in research and development within the European Union. The share of females in research and development personnel in the Czech Republic is lower than 30% in the long term.
