People with a disability

In 2018, there were about 13% of Czech residents aged 15 and over who lived in private households were disabled. In total, there were approximately 1,152 thousand persons, who due to their health problems coped for a long period of time with certain limitations in their daily life. Over a half of them were senior citizens aged 65+ years. The most common type of disability was a limitation in movement or physical disability and limitation due to diseases of internal organs or the skin. Almost 600 thousand of people with disability used the assistance of another person in their daily activities. Most often was assistance given by relatives.
