Number of foreigners, demographic events
Numbers of foreigners legally residing in the territory of the CR rose continuously until 2022 when they reached of their historical maximum of 1 113.7 thousand. By the end of 2023 decline to 1 063.2 thousand was registered. Among foreigners, third-country nationals are prevailing while citizens of Ukraine clearly dominate. Slovaks represent the most numerous group among the foreigners coming from the European Union countries. In 2023 a total of 7 573 children with foreign state citizenship were live born in our territory what meant so far the highest registered number.
