International protection
In total, 1,694 applications for granting of international protection in the Czech Republic were registered in 2022. The number of registered applications thus reached a level similar to that in 2018. Applicants for international protection came from 61 countries in total. The highest number of applications was received from citizens of Ukraine. They were followed by citizens of Turkiye, Russia and Georgia. The international protection in the form of asylum was granted in 92 cases in 2022. Altogether 389 applicants were granted a subsidiary protection.
