Health of women and men

In the long run, on average, higher health care expenditures are spent on women. In 2022, the expenditure of health insurance companies for one woman (CZK 39.4 thousand) were 5% higher than for men (CZK 37.5 thousand). Approximately 711 thousand women (55% of the total number of hospitalized) and 590 thousand men were hospitalized in acute care hospitals in 2023, 12.8 women and 11.1 men per 100 inhabitants.
