In the long run, on average, higher health care expenditures are spent on women. In 2023, the expenditure of health insurance companies for one woman (CZK 42.7 thousand) were 5% higher than for men (CZK 40.6 thousand). Approximately 703.5 thousand women (54% of the total number of hospitalized) and 592,9 thousand men were hospitalized in acute care hospitals in 2024, 12,7 women and 11.1 men per 100 inhabitants.
