Explanatory notes on the selected kinds of goods
By viewing of these graphs you might realize that here we compare the incomparable things - surely the TV set, which you could buy in 1985, is not the same, which you would buy today and even the rolls or sausages are not wholly the same as those at that time. Everything is changing, that is true, but it does not matter - we aim at - in a playful and simple form - looking at the standard of living earlier and today. The long-term time series of prices for some kinds of goods are otherwise problematic as regards the comparability, but for curious users, on this page we try to specify what kind of goods was chosen in a given period.
Furthermore, in some graphs you can notice the missing data for several years. It is due to the fact that during relevant years the prices of this kind of goods were not monitored. Nevertheless, we considered it interesting to include those kinds of goods in our comparison even if their average price is missing.
