Educational personnel and their wages

In September 2022, a total of 207 thousand of educational staff worked in nursery schools, basic schools, and secondary schools in Czechia, of which 154 thousand were teachers. There were 35 thousand teachers in nursery schools, 74 thousand in basic schools, and 42 thousand in secondary schools. The average gross monthly salary for teachers in nursery schools was CZK 40 thousand, while in basic and secondary schools, it was approximately CZK 50 thousand. The number of teaching assistants continues to grow. In 2022, there were 23 thousand of teaching assistants in schools in Czechia, with an average gross monthly salary of CZK 30 thousand. At public and private universities in Czechia, 19,6 thousand academic staff members taught students, half of whom were lecturers.
