Crop production

Based on the first estimates of this year’s harvests as at 10 June, it is expected that the production of basic cereals will be 6 467 thous. tonnes. It is a decrease in comparison with the last year (−15.9%) as well as with the five-year average (−12.0%). Year-on-year, lower production is expected as for winter common wheat, both spring and winter barley, oats, and rye, whereas larger harvests will be as for spring common wheat and triticale. Production of rape is expected to be in the amount of 847 thous. tonnes, which is by 17.1% less, year-on-year, and by 22.6% less when compared to the five-year average.
