Crop production

In 2025, farmers utilised 3 542 thousand hectares of agricultural area, of which 71% was arable land, 28% permanent grassland, and 1% hop-gardens, vineyards and orchards. Compared to the previous year, higher harvests were recorded for cereals (+13.0%), oilseeds (+9.3%), potatoes (+12.1%), pulses for grain (+15.1%), fodder crops (+6.6 %), hops (+6.4%), grapes (+37,1%) and vegetables (+18,9%). Fruit production increased to 155 thousand tonnes, reaching three times the level of the previous year. On the other hand, the sugar beet harvest was 13.9% lower.
