Women and men in decision-making processes

The share of women in the Chamber of Deputies of the Parliament of the Czech Republic is gradually increasing, in the elections in October 2021, women represented one quarter of the elected deputies. The share of women among elected regional representatives is also increasing, in the October 2020 elections it was 22%. A higher proportion of women occupy the local councils of municipalities, small towns and towns - in the elections in September 2022 it reached almost 29%. In all mentioned types of elections, the success rate of women's election (the proportion of elected to candidates) was lower compared to men.
