Statistics on foreign nationals – Reports on quality

EU Member States provide the Commission (Eurostat) with reports on the quality of data transmitted on the base of Article 12 – Statistical quality of the Regulation (EC) No 223/2009 on European statistics (which was amended by Regulation (EU) No 2015/759).

Statistics on foreign nationals, i.e. migration and asylum statistics and statistics on residence permits is provided by the Ministry of Interior of the Czech Republic.

Specific requirements for asylum statistics and ‘Dublin’ statistics on migration and international protection are laid down in Articles 4.1-4.3 of Regulation (EC) 862/2007, which details the data and information that Member States are obliged to provide to Eurostat. Furthermore, statistical data are used in accordance with the rules of the Czech Personal Data Processing Act 2019 (No. 110/2019 Coll.).

Specific requirements for residence permits statistics are laid down in Regulation (EC) 862/2007 on Community statistics on migration and international protection, in Regulation (EU) 2020/851 amending Regulation (EC) No 862/2007; and since 2024 in Directive (EU) 2021/1883 on the conditions of entry and residence of third-country nationals for the purpose of highly qualified employment (until 2024 Council Directive 2009/50/EC).

Furthermore, within statistics on foreign nationals are applied the Czech Acts No. 325/1999 Coll., on asylum, and No. 326/1999 Coll., on the residence of foreign nationals in the territory of the Czech Republic.
