Seasonally adjusted sales in 'transport' increased quarter-on-quarter by 1.8% at constant prices. The trend component grew for the corresponding period by 2.1 %, i.e. by 0.3 percentage point less than the average growth in the previous four quarters (Table 1).
Graph 1

Year-on-year, with seasonal and calendar adjustment, the sales rose by 10.3%. After working days adjustment the sales increased by 9.7%, i.e. identically as the sales without adjustment (Q2 2007 had the same number of working days as Q2 2006).
From among traditional transport divisions the biggest year-on-year growth of not seasonally adjusted sales (by 8.9%) was recorded in 'transport via railways' especially due to the development in freight transport. The most important division of transport in respect of its contribution to aggregate sales, 'other land transport', increased by 4.0%, i.e. identically as in the last four quarters but by 4.1 p.p. less than in the first quarter. 'Inland water transport' which strongly depends on weather conditions recorded in the reported period a 0.3% growth which was the first growth since Q2 2006. ' Air transport' showed a 4.2% growth.
In other divisions the biggest growth (by 33.2%) was recorded for 'cargo handling and store' especially due to a significant growth in sales for the 'sale of goods by some of the important enterprises as their secondary activity'. Sales in 'activities of other transport agencies' increased by 18.1% which was the biggest growth registered for the last 26 quarters. Especially due the influence of big companies the 'activities of travel agencies and tour operators' showed a 4.7% growth.
Post and telecommunications:
Seasonally adjusted sales in 'post and telecommunications' increased by 0.4% quarter-on-quarter at constant prices. The trend component for the corresponding period increased by 0.5%, which was by 0.5 percentage point less than the average growth for the last four quarters (Table 2).
Graph 2

Year-on-year, with seasonal and calendar adjustments, the sales increased by 3.5 % ( working days adjusted, by 3.7%), without adjustment the sales grew by 3.6%.
More than a 3/4 share in the year-on-year growth of not seasonally adjusted sales in 'post and telecommunications' was attributed to 'telecommunications' (growth by 3.1%). Their growth remained roughly on the level of average growth in the last four quarters or the whole year 2006, however, it fell behind the 2005 level by more than 6 p.p. From the aspect of size structure the enterprises with up to 100 employees reached better results while the biggest growth was recorded for the groups of enterprises with 50 up to 99 employees. The growth of sales in 'post and courier activities' started in Q1 2006 continued (by 8.7%) especially due to the activities developed by businesses competing with the state post.
