In Q4 2007 the total value of domestic new construction orders reached CZK 79.9 billion, which was a decrease of 10.4% year-on-year. At the end of 2007 observed construction enterprises recorded 14.1 thousand domestic orders (down by 9.1%) worth CZK 188.5 billion (down by 13.4%).
In the year 2007 observed construction enterprises signed new construction orders worth CZK 263.5 billion (down by 11.9%).

New construction orders
In Q4 2007 observed construction enterprises booked 19 541 new construction orders (-15.4% year-on-year) worth CZK 79.9 billion (-10.4%).
The value of new construction orders for new construction, reconstruction and modernisation was CZK 72.7 billion, i.e. a fall of 12.4%; decreases were recorded for all types of constructions:
- residential buildings by 28.4% (contribution -5.2 percentage points);
- civil engineering works by 8.8 % (contribution -4,3 p.p.);
- non-residential buildings not designed for production by 12.8 % (contribution -2,6 p.p.);
- water management works by 20.1 % (contribution -0,3 p.p.);
- non-residential buildings designed for production by 0.7 % (contribution -0,1 p.p.).

Average value per domestic new construction order reached CZK 4.1 million in Q4 2007 (public order CZK 6.5 million, private order CZK 2.7 million), i.e. up by 5.9% on Q4 2006.
Out of the total value of domestic new construction orders in Q4 2007, public orders made up CZK 46.5 billion (share 58.2%; decrease by 11.3% year-on-year), of which civil engineering CZK 32.8 billion (share 87.8%; decrease by 5.3% year-on-year). Private orders made up CZK 33.4 billion (share 41.8%; decrease by 9.2% year-on-year), of which building construction CZK 26.6 billion (share 77.4%; decrease by 2.7% year-on-year). In terms of numbers of construction orders, private orders prevailed and accounted for 63.5% of the total number of new orders.
Construction orders by value and period of completion
The total value of domestic construction orders reached CZK 188.5 billion at the end of Q4 2007, which was by 13.4% less year-on-year.

In total, medium and large construction enterprises (100+ employees) accounted for 89.5% of the value of construction orders. Enterprises with 1000+ employees had the highest share (55.0%) in the total value of construction orders registered at the end of Q4 2007.
From the total of 14.1 thousand construction orders recorded at the end of Q4 2007, 76.7% will be completed within 6 months and 91.3% within a year.
From the total value of construction orders (CZK 188.5 billion), 45.3% will be completed within 6 months and 74.8% within a year. The value of construction orders recorded on 31 December 2007 amounting to CZK 188.5 billion represents a more than seven-months’ reserve of work for construction enterprises. In comparison to the end of Q3 2007 the reserve of work decreased by 1 month.

Construction orders cancelled
In Q4 2007, 198 construction orders worth CZK 2.0 billion were cancelled.

In the year 2007, observed construction enterprises booked 81 759 new construction orders (-7.2% year-on-year) worth CZK 263.5 billion (-11.9% year-on-year). The average value per domestic new construction order reached CZK 3.2 million, i.e. by 5.9% less than in the year 2006.
In the year 2007 public orders worth CZK 121.8 billion were booked which accounts for 46.2% of the total value of construction orders (-28.2% year-on-year).
