“In the Chamber of Deputies, 133 men and 67 women will have a seat. Representation of women increased by seventeen female deputies compared to the elections in 2021 and it is at a record high. The average age of elected male and female deputies is 48.78 years and the Chamber of Deputies thus became slightly younger compared to the elections four years ago. The oldest elected deputy is 75 years old, the youngest one is 21 years old,” Eva Krumpová, the First Vice President of the Czech Statistical Office, says.
“The voter turnout reached 68.95%, i.e. more than it was four years ago, and it is the highest since 1998. In terms of comparison of Regions, the highest interest in the elections was in the Vysočina Region, where 72.53% of voters came to vote. Voters in the Karlovarský Region with the turnout of 60.74% showed the lowest interest. When looking at data for individual municipalities, 100% turnout was recorded in the municipalities of Dobrohošť and Čilá, where 34 and 32 eligible voters, respectively, cast their vote. On the other hand, the lowest turnout was recorded in the municipality of Obrnice, where 34.69% of 1 652 eligible voters came to the elections,” Eva Krumpová summarises.
In total, 26 entities stood in the elections; on their lists of candidates, 4 462 valid candidates were registered, of whom 1 397 were women (31.3%). Detailed results were published by the Czech Statistical Office on the website at volby.cz.
Data from the last electoral ward were handed over to the Czech Statistical Office on Sunday at 01:42 a.m. On Monday morning, the voting results will be negotiated by the State Electoral Committee. After their approval, they will be published in the Collection of Laws of the Czech Republic.
