Safety of ICT is one of the limiting factors of ICT usage from the point of view of subjective feelings and potential financial cost of remedy losses caused due to failure of information system or due to encroachment to its performance respectively. This was the reason why enterprises with 10 and more persons employed answered questions concerning the safety of ICT.
Less then 85 % of enterprises using computer or 81,3 % of total number of enterprises was using some of the security facilities. Most of them, nearly 99 %, are using virus checking or protection software. The fact that the number of enterprises using authentication mechanism (digital signature, PIN code, password etc.) is higher than number of enterprises using firewall is rather surprising, because the share of enterprises encountering computer virus, trojan or worm attack on number of enterprises using some of security facilities is only by 3% higher then share of enterprises that noticed an unauthorised access to enterprise computer systems or data (36,1 % or 33,5% respectively).
