Guests at Collective Tourist Accommodation Establishments - Regions

Methodological note

Contents

The publication “Guests at Collective Tourist Accommodation Establishments - Regions – Detailed Results“ (code 9207-07) contains aggregated data for the measured quarter and since the year beginning obtained from the monthly (CR1-12) sample survey on guests in collective accommodation establishments and the quarterly (CR2-04) survey on guests in collective accommodation establishments. Data mentioned are sums of the data processed from submitted questionnaires and imputed data on the accommodation establishments that failed to present a completed questionnaire. On a quarterly basis is issued also the publication called “Guests at Collective Tourist Accommodation Establishments CR – Basic Results“ (code 9206-07), which contains i.a.data for individual months of the relevant quarter.

Together with processing of the fourth quarter a revision always takes place as for the previously published data of the relevant year. Corrections are made firstly due to a retroactive reflection of information on death of accommodation establishments in the results of the previous periods and, secondly, additional obtaining of questionnaires from accommodation establishments, which sent them after the deadline (often only at the end of a year). Revised data for the year 2007 will be available in March 2008. Quarterly or monthly revised data are in time series on the web pages of the CZSO: (/produkty/cru_ts).

The numbers of accommodation establishments and their capacity for the year 2006 (state indicator) will be given in June 2007 in the time series on the CZSO websites.

A collective accommodation establishment is an establishment with at least five rooms or ten beds serving to the purposes of tourism. An accommodation establishment with lower capacity belongs to the category of individual/private accommodation establishments. Those units have no longer been surveyed since 2002.

Guests in an accommodation establishment are persons (including children) who used the services of the accommodation establishment for their temporary stay. Persons (Czech nationals and foreigners) who used accommodation establishment services for temporary stay for the purpose of employment are not included. The length of temporary stay does not exceed 1 year for the visitor (guest) to be taken as a tourist.

Gross use of bed places is arrived at by using the total of permanent bed places. Net use of bed places refers to the use of permanent beds actually available to guests. Similarly, net use of rooms relies on the rooms actually available to guests.

Due to individual data protection, some of the tables do not contain all data (letters “i.d.“ instead), or data are not in a more detailed breakdown. Flag i.d.* represents data, which cannot be published due to individual data protection in other category.

This publication will be issued in the following months: June, September, December 2007 and March 2008.
