The publication “Guests at Collective Tourist Accommodation Establishments – CR Basic Results“ (code 9206-06) is issued on a quarterly basis. It contains data for individual months11) From the 60th calendar day following the last day of the reference month the following are available in the CZSO Information Services Section: a table with preliminary monthly data for the Czech Republic on guests broken down by arrivals and overnight stays of domestic and foreign tourists in collective accommodation establishments and a table with an overview of use of bed places and use of rooms at hotels and boarding houses. These data, however, have to be considered only rough (preliminary), as they result from a limited sample, which is grossed up to all collective accommodation establishments and thus cannot use information on death of establishments within all collective accommodation establishments, which is obtained with quarterly periodicity.
of the relevant quarter obtained from the monthly (CR1-12) survey on guests at collective accommodation establishments and the quarterly (CR2-04) survey on guests in collective accommodation establishments. Data mentioned are sums of the data processed from submitted questionnaires and imputed data on the accommodation establishments that failed to present a completed questionnaire. Aggregated data in a more detailed breakdown by particular regions are contained in the quarterly publication "Guests at Collective Tourist Accommodation Establishments - Regions - Detailed Results" (code 9207-06). Time series of basic indicators are available on the CZSO websites:
/produkty/cru_ts.

Together with processing of the fourth quarter a revision always takes place as for the previously published data of the relevant year. Corrections are made firstly due to a retroactive reflection of information on death of accommodation establishments in the results of the previous periods and, secondly, additional obtaining of questionnaires from accommodation establishments, which sent them after the deadline (often only at the end of a year).

Results of the survey on guests in collective accommodation establishments are directly influenced by the state of the Register of Accommodation Establishments (RUBT), which is continually updated from results of surveys and administrative sources available.

The numbers of accommodation establishments and their capacity for the year 2005 (state indicator) were given in June 2006 in the annual publication “Capacity of Collective Tourist Accommodation Establishments” (representing the state at 31 December 2005 or as at the end of operation of accommodation establishments).

Guests in an accommodation establishment are persons (including children) who used the services of the accommodation establishment for their temporary stay. Persons (Czech nationals and foreigners) who used accommodation establishment services for temporary stay for the purpose of employment are not included. The length of temporary stay does not exceed 1 year for the visitor (guest) to be taken as a tourist.

Gross use of bed places is arrived at by using the total of permanent bed places. Net use of bed places refers to the use of permanent beds actually available to guests. Similarly, net use of rooms relies on the rooms actually available to guests.

This publication will be issued in the following months: June, September, December 2006 and March 2007.
