Capacity of Collective Tourist Accommodation Establishments
Methodology | Contents |
Statistical survey CR 9-01 on the capacity of accommodation establishments as at 31 December 2005 */1. covered all collective accommodation establishments of tourism operated by legal or natural persons on a commercial basis.
A collective accommodation establishment is an establishment with at least five rooms or ten beds serving to the purposes of tourism. An accommodation establishment with lower capacity belongs to the category of individual/private accommodation establishments. Those units have no longer been surveyed since 2002.
The survey is based on utilisation of a specific register of accommodation establishments and its results are used for a backward update of the register. Accommodation establishments report the state on 31 December 2005 or on the last day they offered accommodation during the given year.
Data in the tables have been taken from presented questionnaires and include also data for collective accommodation establishments having failed to report. In those cases, information on capacity was used from the register of accommodation establishments, which is continually updated from information sources available.
This publication uses CZ-NUTS classification; results are broken down to the level of regions (NUTS 3) and some basic indicators also to districts (NUTS 4).
Data on the capacity of balneological establishments are already included in data on the total capacity. As recommended by the WTO and Eurostat, curative balneological institutions have been included among tourist accommodation establishments.
There have been no indicators of numbers of workers in accommodation establishments in the questionnaire CR 9-01 since 2005. Figures on average registered number of employees are available in the quarterly publications “Guests at Collective Tourist Accommodation Establishments”, code 9207-05.
A total number of establishments with possibility to organise congresses includes only establishments, which capacity of room for conferences is higher than 100 persons. Similarly, a number of congresses includes only meetings with more than 100 participants.
Due to individual data protection, some of the tables do not contain all data (letters “i.d.“ instead), or data are not in a more detailed breakdown.
