New construction work orders:
The volume of new construction work orders concluded in the CR stood at CZK 67.3 billion (public and private orders amounting to CZK 39.8 bn and CZK 27.5 bn, respectively), which translates into an increase of 2.0% y-o-y.
Seen by types of construction the volume of new domestic orders mainly increased in the construction of non-residential buildings not designed for production (+58.7%, the construction of office and business centres in Prague and of the sports complex in the town of Liberec, all under preparation), hydraulic engineering (+28.5%, protective anti-flood measures), and residential buildings (+20.2%, mortgages and saving in building society). The volume of civil engineering orders decreased by 26.5% (due to the unfinished building permit procedures for some civil engineering projects).
The average value of domestic new construction work orders was CZK 3.2 million and increased by 12.2% q-o-q.
Supply of construction orders as at 31 December 2003:
Construction enterprises with 20+ employees, whose principal activity is building and civil engineering and site preparation (CZ-NACE 451 and 452), concluded a total of 13.2 thousand construction work orders. The orders represented a CZK 158.5 billion worth supply of construction work not yet carried out in total.
Domestic and non-domestic construction work orders accounted for 98.4% and 1.6% of the total volume, respectively. Of the total volume of domestic orders, public orders amounted to CZK 111.0 billion and private ones to CZK 44.8 billion at the end of Q4 2003.
