Industrial production in October 2007 grew by 8.4% year-on-year and by 13.3% month-on-month. Compared with the average month of the base year 2000, industrial production in October 2007 was by 77.8% higher. Year-on-year saw October higher industrial production in sections: D – ‘Manufacturing‘ (+8.8%) and E – ‘Electricity, gas and water supply’ (+7.2%), while in section C – ‘Mining and quarrying’ dropped (–2.1%).
In October 2007, the output of ‘Manufacturing’ increased especially in subsections: DM – ‘Manufacture of transport equipment’ (+20.3%), DK – ‘Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c’ (+20.1%), DH – ‘Manufacture of rubber and plastic products’ (+17.0%), DL – ‘Manufacture of electrical and optical equipment’ (+15.3%) and DC – ‘Manufacture of leather and leather products’ (+11.6%). A decrease was seen in sections DF – ‘Manufacture of coke, refined petroleum’ (–42,5%), DG – ‘Manufacture of chemicals, chemical products and man-made fibres’ (–7.2%), DJ – ‘Manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products’ (–2.3%) and DB – ‘Manufacture of textiles and textile products’ (–0.1%).
The October year-on-year IPI broken down by main industrial grouping increased most in the grouping for ‘Consumer Durables’ (+32.8%) and dropped in MIG ‘Energy’ (–7.9%) only.
