Industrial production in January 2007 grew by 9.8% year-on-year and by 12.0% month-on-month. Compared with the average month of the base year 2000, industrial production in January 2007 was by 53.4% higher. Year-on-year saw January higher industrial production in Section: D – ‘Manufacturing‘ (+7.2%). A less drop was recording for Sections C – ‘Mining and quarrying’ and E – ‘Electricity, gas and water supply’.
The highest increases in ‘Manufacturing’ were reported in Subsections: DI – ‘Manufacture of non-metallic mineral products’ (+31.5%), DH – ‘Manufacture of rubber and plastic products’ (+27.9%), DK – ‘Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c.’ (+26.1%) and DD - ‘Manufacture of wood and wood products’ (+20.7%), while a decrease was seen in DC – ‘Manufacture of leather and leather products’ (-2.9%) and DJ – Manufacture o basic metals and fabricated metal products (-1.0%).
The January year-on-year IPI broken down by main industrial grouping increased most in the grouping for ‘Capital Goods’ (+13.7%).
