Industrial production in August 2007 grew by 5.5% year-on-year and by 3.5% month-on-month declined. Compared with the average month of the base year 2000, industrial production in August 2007 was by 45.6% higher. Year-on-year saw August higher industrial production in all of Sections: C – ‘Mining and quarrying’ dropped (+1.0%), D – ‘Manufacturing‘ (+5.7%) and E – ‘Electricity, gas and water supply’ (+4.1%).
In August, the output of ‘Manufacturing’ increased especially in subsections: DH – ‘Manufacture of rubber and plastic products’ (+17.7%), DK – ‘Manufacture of machinery and equipment n.e.c’ (+13.7%), DI – ‘Manufacture of non-metallic products’ (+12,1%), DL – ‘Manufacture of electrical and optical equipment’ (+12.0%) and DM – ‘Manufacture of transport equipment’ (+10.4%). A decrease was seen in sections DJ – ‘Manufacture of basic metals and fabricated metal products’ (–3.8%), DG – ‘Manufacture of chemicals, chemical products and man-made fibres’ (–3.6%) and DF – ‘Manufacture of coke, refined petroleum products’ (–3.0%).

The August year-on-year IPI broken down by main industrial grouping increased most in the grouping for ‘Capital Goods’ (+11.9%). Industrial production dropped in MIG ‘Consumer Non-Durables’ (–0.9%) only.
