This information on evaluating external trade of the Czech Republic is based on data processed by and taken over from the Directorate General of Customs. These data should be regarded as the prelimi-nary ones. A peculiarity of customs statistics is the fact that the data published are continually updated during each subsequent processing by those Single Administrative Documents (SAD) that were not included into the previous process-ing for one reason or another. As soon as these SADs get into process-ing, they are always included into the period when the goods indicated on the SAD were cleared. Therefore, data published by individual quarter will be subse-quently updated.
In order to achieve a better explanatory power and comparability of data between external trade statistics, enterprise statistics and national accounts, the data have been converted according to the structure of the Classification of Products by Activity (CPA) down to the two-digit level.
This publication contains not only data by CPA 2, but also data on imports and exports to be processed and after processing.
