Since September 2003, the Czech Statistical Office (CZSO) has changed the way of updating monthly results from monthly- to quarterly-based. That means that monthly data remain constant in the course of a quarter.
Updated data for the whole period from the beginning of a year will always be published together with preliminary data for the first month of the following quarter, i.e. updates are coming out in May (1st quarter), August (1st–2nd quarters), November (1st–3rd quarters), and February (1st–4th quarters). Updated and final data for the preceding year will be published together with updates for the 1st quarter (i.e. in May) and the 1st–2nd quarters (in August), respectively.
The following two notes apply to all tables of this publication – „External Trade of the Czech Republic in January 2004“:
2003 data for January to December are updated, referring to 17 February 2004 closing date.
2004 data for January are preliminary, referring to 17 February 2004 closing date.
Unit value indices for imports and exports and terms of trade from the beginning of a year remain to be published on a monthly basis, and no updates are made.
Tables for individual quarters breaking external trade down into sections of SITC, Rev. 3, are no longer published monthly, but always together with quarterly updates.
