Number of pigs as at 1st April 2007 went down by 10 thousand heads y-o-y (0.4 %), of which number of sows declined by 4 thousand heads (1.8 %). Compared with the situation at 1.12.2006 the number of pigs increased by 3.3 % (sows: rose by 1.6 %).
5.8 piglets per 1 sow were born in 1Q 2007 (rise of 4.0 % year-on-year), 5.2 piglets were weaned (increased by 4.8 %) and 10.6 % piglets were lost by death (decline of 0.7 %). Sale of pigs for slaughter grew by 7.1 % y-o-y.
